Family Physicians are at the frontlines of managing patients with Sickle Cell disease, a disease that is poorly understood and has limited treatment options. An understanding of the structural disparities affecting persons with this disease can help Family Physicians at various levels to join in the charge to improve health outcomes for this marginalized population.
