Physician Wellness During The Pandemic

The enduring COVID-19 pandemic has significant emotional impact on health professionals, many of whom experienced burnout before the pandemic. In this session, we will review manifestations of burnout and common psychological reactions seen in health professionals during this crisis. We will cover principles of psychological first aid, their applications to supporting physician well-being and practical strategies that can help coping with the sustained stress of this pandemic.
- Describe stressors experienced by health professionals related to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Explain principles of psychological first aid (PFA)
- Describe coping strategies based on PFA principles to support self and colleagues
